Clinical Trials Volunteers: Ordinary people who make an extraordinary difference!

South Carolina Oncology Associates is dedicated to the field of cancer research. Believing that research holds the key to making advances in cancer care, SCOA physicians and research staff are involved in clinical trials that allow our patient volunteers access to the newest medications and therapies being developed. Clinical research staff, including certified oncology research nurses, data managers, and other support staff, provides research volunteers with the extra level of monitoring and care that clinical trial participation requires. In order to expand treatment options and gain greater access to clinical trials that will better serve the Midlands of South Carolina, SCOA recently became a strategic site with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, TN. Through this affiliation, an expanded number of trials will be available. These important studies give our physicians multiple treatment options that might not otherwise be available. They also can profoundly impact the lives of generations to come.
