I can't say enough good things about SCOA. They are like a well oiled machine, and every staff member I've come in contact with has been extremely friendly, compassionate and helpful. From the moment you walk I the door you are treated like a person, not number on a chart. The nurses in the treatment rooms, the phlebotomimists, the check in folks, all of them are amazing. My doctor, Dr Prophet and Nurse Practioner Katie are so kind and so knowledgeable. Every question I had (and I had a LOT), every issue I encountered, they had swift responses. They have taken a very scary life experience and made it as comfortable as possible. I reached remission with their help and got to ring the bell. I will be forever grateful that everyone at SCOA made that journey as smooth as possible. 5 stars for SCOA!

After having been misdiagnosed twice with spinal cancer at Lexington Medical Center, SCOA was a breath of fresh, breatheable air. A dear friend referred me to Dr. Coker, who she grew up with in Sumter.
Dr. Coker ordered all of the necessary tests, MRIs and biopsies and there were quite a few. I am blessed to have an excellent health insurance supplement and this has proven fortunate. I have never had a copay.
Dr. Coker informed me today that there was no cancer in my body, but there was another, less serious condition that he would help me deal with. What a blessing Dr. Coker is.
I reflected upon the past six months, thinking that I had inoperable cancer, selling some of my antiques, my grandmother's china and silver because I was scared, thinking of rehoming my dear parrot, Russell, becoming a hospice patient and trying (and succeeding) keeping it together. That was a lot to carry around for six months and I could not have done it without my hospice team. I encourage everyone to review what you think you know about hospice. You will learn lots of new things. Hospice is definitely for the living.
Also, if you ever are diagnosed with cancer, you will find out quickly who your friends aren't.

I have never felt so cared for and supported. Cancer is absolutely awful, and I was so blessed to have the professionals at SCOA to care for me.

These guys are great! Dr. Merritt is truly a great partner as you take this journey they call cancer. He and his team make every effort to help and to guide. I would like to send a special shout out to Suzy, for all the times you helped Lynn get what she needed, thank you! I really cannot put into words how great this team is. If it weren’t for SCOA I don’t know how my mother would have made it through her cancer diagnosis. Dr. Butler, FNP Miller, and Myra (RN) are all amazing! Dr. Butler is wonderful, FNP Miller is so kind and understanding, Myra is top notch! What an amazing nurse, and all other staff member who have made my mother feel welcomed. My family and I owe you everything for the care you all have provided. THANK YOU!!!

Scott in the Petscan area really went above the call of duty when helping me get setup and done with a Petscan on 2 days I was not doing good. His assistance made the process much easier and answered all my questions at a great level. I can not thank him enough.
